A practical workshop involving microscopy and the identification of some our common British zooplankton species.
This is a taster session and not a complete course.

Using microscopes we will be looking at some preserved zooplankton specimens from the MBA's L4 monitoring station near the Eddystone reef off Plymouth.  We will be looking at:

Copepods, Chaetognaths, Cladocerans, Fish larvae, Siphonophores, Decapod larvae, Euphausiids

We will demonstrate some of the most important identification features and how to speciate some of the common zooplankton species using identification keys and literature.

If you would like to attend either the morning or afternoon session, please contact Clare Buckland to book your place.
